Classic Car show - Quartier libre - near Pau FR.
This morning was the monthly classic car show near Pau (France) so I took the opportunity to take the 181 there. It was the first trip for the Trekker with it's new 1776cc engine.
I parked next my mates new Bay window pickup.
Patrice came from Tarbes with his Splitty
Nice flower power Samba.

181 1776cc - Tow bar - Banner
The Trekker is back home with it's new 1776cc engine. I wanted to keep it's original looks so nobody could tell it's been tuned.
I took the opportunity to fit a tow bar as I didn't have any vehicle to tow my trailer.
I made a bracket to hold the plug under the 181.
Back view of the engine.
The plug has been fitted under the car.
I have also fitted my new Banner which I bought at the European Bug-In.
As I had a lot of stickers collected all over the years I decided to wake a wall of fame.

1776Ccc getting redy for the 181
On the way back from the "cox Troc" this summer in south of France, I decided that I had to so something with the engine. For the last couple of years I had problems starting the 181 when hot. I took the Trekker to Beetle64 my local shop.
When Gael opened the engine he found out that both heads were cracked and all the pistons were identical. I also had a lot of end play.
After much consideration I decided to update the 1600cc to a 1776cc with a nice engle 110 and full flow. I wanted to keep the original look of the engine so no fancy carb or anything superficial. I even keept the dual poulie who was used to power a generator for the army radio
Engine back into the 181
Big thanks to Gael and David @ Beetle64.
