SCAT Pulley

Tried to install the pulley tonight but the tinware was touching the oil pump, so i had to make a hole to give access.

This is how it looks

Everything is so tight.

At least it's in.

SCAT Full Flow filter oil Pump

This is the SCAT Full Flow I am going to install,

The first problem was that the studs were too short.

And the 2nd one was that the oil pump was hitting the block and couldn't be a perfect fit.

I first removed the studs and made some longer ones

I also had to remove some material on the oil pump, only about 1mm

I had to do the same on the block.

Job done, the oil pump is in place.

Very High Temperature Paint

Engine ready for Very High Temperature Paint. It should withstand temperatures up to 500 oC.



It should be protected enough

This is the result. Matt Black, nice and tidy.

Block now closed

The crank and bearings are now in place. The cam bearings have some Torco engine assembly lube, ready for for the C35 Cam




The Scat Cam now in place and the block has some gasket compound.

Torque wrench in hand,

Job done!!! Everything seems to rotate properly.

I have closed the block to make sure everything works properly.

I can now open it up and complete the build.

Crankshaft

Removing the bearing on the crank is not an easy task.

My camping gaz happened to be very useful to fit the gears to the crank.

Head work

Gonna start working on the heads.

Before cleaning

After cleaning. I still have to polish it.

Valve removal tool.

The second head is ready to be cleaned.

I can't believe that. The head is cracked... I'm gonna have to find a good set now.

Rods cleaned Block checked

The rods have been removed and checked

then cleaned and now ready to be refitted. I need to get a new set of big end bearings.

Then the block has been completly cleaned, dried and rechecked.

All the nuts and bolts are cleaned and ready to be re assembled.
