Crankshaft

Being a bit too cold to work in the shed I have made this little workbench, to work on, in the kitchen, where it's a lot warmer.

It's amazing, how easy it is to remove the C clip when you have the right pliers.

It's now time to remove the gear with a crank puller. I can't believe that the tool is too small and I can't push the puller completely behind the gear. It's to small by 0.5mm.

A bit of Dremel action and everything is back on track.

Thanks to the impact wrench to remove the gear. Without this tool I will not be able to do the job.

Here we go I can now remove the bearing and clean the crank.

New project

This is my new project. The block is a 1300cc AS41. I am going to work on this one over winter. This should keep me busy...

The oil is very dirty and I hope I will not have any bad surprise.

The flywheel has to be taken off. Good job I have a massive torque wrench.

Ready to go on the bench.

Open heart surgery. What I gonna find inside?

Everything seems to be in good shape. A good clean will be necessary.

Nice and clean.
